Filled up at Shell this morning for $2.229 and 5 minutes later they jumped the price to $2.339. Wonder what major development caused this jump. Maybe, one of the big 3 has a birthday this month or something.

We were $2.499 yesterday. Pat Robertson is saying oil will go to $300 a barrel.
Bout time to open up the national reserves and clamp a lid on exporting U.S. oil and gasoline and putting a lid on the price of gas.
The government caused this crisis, let them fix it iinstead of sticking it to us.

What is causing this increase in gas prices? They started going up after if was reported that home heating costs would be lower this year than last.

$2.59 in Palmyra this morning at Shell.

I am content to sit back and wait for our saviour, BO, to come riding in on his horse and reign in the oil companies like he is the banks, the auto industry, those nasty polluters, etc. Surely this will happen since he is not from an oil background. The left will trumpet our salvation when he does so.

I'll be waiting.

A good part of the increases can be placed at the feet of economic policies within the USA that are resulting in a decline in the value of the dollar in the world market. Takes more of those dollars to buy a barrel of oil because each of them is worth less than it was last week and the week before and the week before and on and on. It isn’t about to stop declining anytime soon and that means that the barrel is going to keep costing more and more of those less valuable dollars.

And I waited for today to do my bi-weekly fill up when I head for town later.

Don't know about you Squid, but, I'm not going to hold my breath till OB comes through.
Monroe City to Columbia is $2.59. Columbia was still @ 2.499 when I left at 3 this afternoon.

I don't think so! Obama needs the higher prices for his energy policy agenda; wind and solar power. Cap and trade legislation is coming up soon that will force energy production from non-fossil fuel sources and that'll double prices from where ever they are at that time. Stop and think back, what happened to the "Drill Here Drill Now" talk of last year? Why hasn't the Saviour authorized increased drilling offshore? We could have some of that new domestically produced oil by now.

Imagine the price of oil dropping just because the unemployed numbers were higher than expected. CSer's.
Price of gas in Columbia still $2.499 everywhere.

There is bad weather in the Gulf. Crude oil will go up. The market will go down. And the " Lords of the Ring " will increase their profit margin today. And all of us with be forced to make their very comfortable life style even better. Ain't it grand?
