I've been thinking of driving a small piece of pvc pipe next to some of my plants that are basically drowning. I was thinking that this may help them dry out faster (or maybe drown faster if I'm wrong). Does anyone know about this method?

Just wondering who is covering their roses this year (and with what) and who isn't? I still hear do it and don't do it. Talked to several nurseries, they are split too. My stems are pretty long so they'd have to be cut back before covering them, so some say that isn't good. I sure don't want to have to replace them all again next year. Wood chips are not an option.
